Dr. Joe Lenz
Dr. Joe Lenz received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He also received his Bachelor of Science, with honors, in Exercise Science from the University of Iowa.
Born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa, Dr. Lenz graduated from Hempstead High School. He is married to Hannah (Meyer) Lenz, a native of Ely, Iowa. She is a teacher at Bowman Woods Elementary in the Linn Mar Community School District. Joe and Hannah have two daughters, Mavis and Edith.
Dr. Lenz’s treatment philosophy is to provide the highest standard of dental care with minimally invasive techniques. His focus is on the prevention of future dental disease. He feels that each patient should be treated with honesty, respect, and compassion. Dr. Lenz offers and explains all your dental treatment options so you can make informed decisions about your personal care.
As a lifelong learner, Dr. Lenz is passionate about continuing education and implementing new technology in his office to improve patient experiences. He is a member in good standing with the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, and the Linn County Dental Society, where he serves as a board member.
When he is not creating beautiful smiles in the office, Dr. Lenz enjoys being involved in the community. He is a member of the Marion/East Cedar Rapids Rotary Club, he coaches youth ice hockey at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena, and he gives dental presentations throughout the community. In addition, Dr. Lenz enjoys playing and watching sports, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Allison, Registered Dental Hygienist
Allison received her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene, Associate of Science, and Associate of Arts degrees from Kirkwood Community College. She was chosen for the Colgate Student Total Achievement Recognition (S.T.A.R.) Award.
Allison is licensed in the state of Iowa in Dental Hygiene, Local Anesthesia, and is certified in CPR/AED and Soft Tissue Laser Periodontal Therapy. She is an active member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, serves as VP for the Iowa Dental Hygiene Association (IDHA) in Linn County, is a judge for the annual Session Table Clinic, and is a delegate for the Linn County Component. Allison has more than eight years of experience working as a dental treatment coordinator.
She has a passion for volunteering, and works with the Cedar Rapids Community Health Free Clinic, Iowa Mission of Mercy, I-Smile Project, local nursing homes, local schools, and internationally with Kirkwood and the God's Child Project in Guatemala. Allison is married to Ryan and they have two sons, Malloy and Kellett.
Ellisha, Registered Dental Hygienist
Ellisha received her Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Liberal Arts in Dental Hygiene from the University of Iowa in 1993. She is licensed to administer local anesthetic and to practice Dental Hygiene in the state of Iowa.
Ellisha is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and the Iowa Dental Hygienist Association, where she is a former vice president. Locally, Ellisha has served as president, treasurer and continuing education chair for the Linn County Dental Hygiene Association.
Ellisha is married and lives in Cedar Rapids with her family. She has three children and stays busy with the kids' school and church activities. Ellisha enjoys biking, photography, and yearly vacations with her family. They visit places where they can bike, hike and check out all the beautiful areas in the United States.
Jane, Registered Dental Assistant
Jane is from Chicago and has been a Registered Dental Assistant for more than 20 years in our community. She enjoys the relationships she has created with our patients. She has the longest tenure in our office, having worked with Dr. Dan Trimble, the previous dentist.
In order to further her dental knowledge, Jane attends a number of continuing education courses including the yearly Iowa Dental Association. She is trained in medical emergencies and certified in CPR/AED and dental radiography. Jane is married to Todd and they have a son, Jordon. In her free time, Jane enjoys camping and spending time with her family and friends.
Karen has been in the medical field for more than 20 years as a transcriptionist. She recently switched her focus to the dental world. Karen loves working with people and enjoys taking care of our patients’ needs at the front desk.
Karen’s organizational skills have improved our overall patient care. Karen is married to Ted and they have two children, Brianna and Bryce. They have lived in Marion for more than 20 years and really love the “small town” feel of the community. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, camping, reading, and volunteering at her family’s church.
