Uptown Dental has moved! Don’t worry, we’re still in the same great location, but we’ve built a brand new building in the lot next door to better accommodate our current and growing patient base. Emergency Dentistry

Emergencies will be seen the same day they occur. If you experience a dental emergency, please call our office immediately. If your tooth is knocked out, please either place the tooth in your cheek or in a glass of milk. It is very important NOT to scrub the tooth.

Fee and Payment Policy

We offer several financing options for your convenience:

Cash or check at the time of service. Payment plans and prepayment discounts for Visa, MasterCard, and Discover payments.

If you need extensive treatment, we offer payment plans through CareCredit®. If you have insurance, we will verify your benefits and coverage to determine your portion as accurately as possible. Payment is due when services are rendered. Please ask if you have any questions concerning the costs involved in your care.

Insurance

If you have dental insurance, we will help determine your available coverage. We require that you assign your benefits to us. Any balance remaining after your insurance company has paid us is your responsibility. Please refer to our Fees and Payment policy section above.

Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to the insurance company. The insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in filing your claim and handling the insurance questions.

Sterilization Policy

We care about the safety of our patients. That’s why we do all we can to provide you with an environment that is clean and is monitored as part of our infection control program. Our standards exceed the American Dental Association’s standard for safe practices. Trust our expertise and the care we take in sterilizing our instruments and materials.

The PICASSO Lite ~ A Soft Tissue Dental Laser

Uptown Dental loves to stay current with the most up-to-date technology to serve our patients with the best dentistry has to offer.

The PICASSO Lite is a soft tissue dental laser designed for a variety of oral soft tissue procedures utilizing solid state diodes. The laser is most commonly used by our hygienist in adjunction to periodontal disease therapy as a means of disinfection.

Dr. Joe Lenz uses the Picasso Laser for a number of procedures including: removal of soft tissue abnormalities, such as irritating tissue growths and high frenum attachments, to treat and alleviate the pain of a cold sore or other oral trauma, and to perform esthetic gingival contouring to enhance your smile. Velscope - The Oral Cancer Screening System

This system helps Dr. Lenz visualize abnormalities in the mucosal tissues of your lips, mouth and upper throat. In just two minutes, with no rinses, stains or discomfort, a VELscope examination improves our assessment of your overall oral health.

VELscope's blue light "excites" molecules (called "fluorophores") deep within the layers of oral mucosal tissues. A filter makes fluorescence visualization possible, by blocking reflected blue light, and by enhancing the contrast between normal and abnormal tissue.

Diagnodent - Early Cavity Detection

The Diagnodent is a simple, fast and painless approach to early detection of tooth decay. A low intensity laser is able to detect decay in its early stages by measuring the laser light within the tooth structure.
